I actually liked doing a TBR for the books, movies and tv shows I wanted to watch during the month of July, so I think I’m going to make these a monthly thing.
I only read two of the books on my TBR last month – The Magician’s Nephew and Three Dark Crowns, I still want to read the other books that I had planned to get to last month but in addition to those I have selected some books I would like to be able to get to.
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare: At the end of next month I’m hoping to do a library trip and check out Clockwork Princess so I can finish off the Infernal Devices trilogy but since I’m reading the series in publication order, I want to read book 5 before I finish off the trilogy. I’ve been really enjoying making my way through the Shadowhunter World and since City of Fallen Angels ended on a cliff hanger I want to continue reading to find out what happened.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline: I’ve been wanting to read this one for the past couple of years and since there’s been all the recent buzz at San Diego Comic Con and the teaser trailer, I want to finally sit down and read the book as I think this is going to be something that I’m really going to enjoy.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo: I’ve been wanting to read the Six of Crows duology since there’s been so much hype about the series but even though I’ve heard you don’t have to read the Grisha Trilogy first, I want to read the series in publication order. I actually attempted reading Shadow and Bone last year when I borrowed it from the library but I only got a couple of chapters in before I had to return. I’ve recently been feeling the urge to properly delve into this universe after watching nayareadsandsmiles booktubeathon vlogs and her reading of the series, has gotten me excited to start this series.
Darkness be my friend by John Marsden: I’ve been slowly making my way through the Tomorrow when the war began series since I was in year 9 back in 2002. I’m up to the fourth book in the series and I’m hoping to read this so I can hopefully check out the rest of the series from the library and finally finish the series.
On the other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher: I really enjoy watching Carrie’s youtube videos and when she had a book published last year I knew I wanted to check it out, I still haven’t done that but with her newest book having recently come out I’ve decided that now is the time to finally read her first book.
Atomic Blonde: I’d been curious to check out this movie based on the trailers and then I started hearing positive reviews and that has made me more excited to watch this.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets: This just seems like a movie that is right up my alley. I love science fiction and I do really like Luc Besson’s movies, particularly the Fifth Element.
The Dark Tower: I’ve read the first two books in this series and I’m curious to see how a film adaptation would work and I like the actors cast in this, so hopefully I’m going to like this.
Logan Lucky: I don’t really know too much about this but I did actually quite enjoy Side Effects by the same director, so I’m curious to see how he will do a heist movie.
American Made: I actually do like Tom Cruise as an actor and so I’m willing to check out most of his movies, I’ve enjoyed the trailers so I’m looking forward to checking this out.
Dark Matter: I’m only a few episodes in to this current season but I’ve liked what I’ve seen of it, so I’m looking forward to binging the next batch of episodes that I have.
Game of Thrones: I have not yet started season 7 yet *shame, shame, shame*, I definitely need to get onboard with that this month.
Supergirl: I need to finish season 2 of the show and then I’m caught up with the Flarrowverse, I was enjoying what I’ve seen of season 2 so I just need to finish it by October.
